New Year...Old Hobbies
Jan. 4th, 2022 01:26 pmThought I'd kick off the new year Jan. 1st getting some drawing in! I put on Maryden's songs from DAI as background music...and promptly decided I should go play Dragon Age instead.

Working on better GIFs but this is the only one I have presently.
Name: Taarik Adaar
Age: 38
Class: Warrior (two-handed)
Specialization: Champion
S/o: Pansexual
Romance: Cassandra
Taarik is a warrior who wanted to be a poet. He has the heart of a romantic (ergo he was won over by the romanticism of the champion path in training), but as vashoth in Orlais, didn't have many options career-wise. He eschewed the path of a mercenary for years, employing himself in a variety of places wherever he could get work. His favorite was the several years he spent as a baker working for a shop in a modest Orlesian town. However, in the end, his inability to get or keep a job due to local prejudice created financial strain that led to his getting into the merc work he had been trying so hard to avoid.
Broad even for a vasoth, Taarik is used to standing out and putting people on edge just with his existence, so he's learned to deflect and try to ease tension with humor and self-deprecation. He's also prone to developing crushes at the drop of a hat and as a teenager was "in love" every other week. Despite circumstances, he was pretty smitten with Cass from the start, to her chagrin. Although his parents didn't raise him in the Qun, he has a significant interest in it, partly from a heritage standpoint, and feels that although it may be abused by those in power in Par Vollen (as is the Chant of Light by some in the Chantry), there are good and helpful things about it as well. This is not an opinion he throws around freely in the south.
My true struggle with this playthrough is that I'm also starting to ship him with Blackwall and Iron Bull TT_TT It is a shame that Blackwall isn't a bi romance TT_TT
