Sister, Sister by @swanmaids - AHHH! Heather wrote this amazing fic for me and I love it!! Absolutely heartbreaking Nolofinwean family energy, full of love, full of loss. This exploration of Aredhel and Turgon’s relationship will get your heart.

Astorad by spellworth - I have been shocked by the lack of Daeron/Finrod content so this little ficlet is great to see! Finrod and Daeron hooking up in grief and comparing their respective lost loves fits right in with canon’s tragic themes.

Pursuit by @meadowlarkx - I will admit to having zero investment in Nessa or the adjacent Valar, but this fic makes me reconsider. Here we have Nessa’s hot (genderfluid) girl agenda and an excellent use of predator/prey hunter/hunted dynamics as foreplay. It’s, how the kids say, good shit.

The Teleri Have No Funerals by @that-angry-noldo - GOD I love explorations of the practical realities of the tragedies of Silm. This is such a brilliant little observation of worldbuilding--why would the Teleri have developed funerary rites in Aman? Another heartwrenching exploration of the grief of those who remained behind the Exiles.

Failure and Guilt by @swanmaids - In the same theme as the last, this heartbreaking look at Sirion post-Third Kinslaying is gutting in its realism. Every sentence hurts to read and it’s truly vivid in its pain.

Falas + Joyful Labors by @starspray - Such a cute look at the Iathrim before everything goes to hell in a handbasket. The characterizations here are so much fun, Daeron especially.

Forced to Watch by @theworldisquietheretooquiet - Stomach-turningly real look at the fate of Morwen and Aerin in Brethil. Aerin is such a minor footnote character in Silm, but she does suffer, and in a way that we know so many women in the world must have suffered under invaders :( This fic captures Morwen’s impotent frustration and Aerin’s survivalist resignation so well.

Untitled by @actual-bill-potts - Ahhhh!!!! This is so precious I’m foaming at the mouth. ELVES AND BABIES! Finrod and babies! Finrod pays a visit to Barahir when Beren is very small and it is so fucking cute.
