Cassettes Live On

I was going through some more boxes of dad’s stuff over break and I found a bunch of his old music cassettes from the 80s and 90s...so naturally I had to go buy a cassette player so I can hear what’s on them...I got it working today and it’s just so wild to hear what my dad was into or thought was worth recording back then...and I can listen to those tapes now and idk there’s just something personal about hearing other people’s playlists/mixtapes I think. It’s nice. And the quality of the music is actually pretty great considering how old they are and that he recorded these songs off the radio!

It is! The other fun thing about this cassette player is I can plug it into my computer via a USB cable and convert the songs on the cassettes into MP3s, or burn MP3 files onto new cassettes.

Ohh, that sounds like an awesome cassette player! What kind is it? I didn't realize there were some with that ability.

It is! A lot of the (new) cassette players I looked at had this capability and are aimed primarily I think at folks who have a lingering cassette collection and want to digitalize it. I even found one on Sharper Image that will connect to a speaker with bluetooth!
